The Holiday Review & Summary (2006)

Sometimes we are disappointed in life and then we want to get away from where we are and go on vacation. This holiday often consists of quiet days and sometimes a brand new adventure. The Holiday (2006) is a romantic comedy about two women who are very successful in their work but have a big deadlock in their relationships, changing their homes to go on a vacation and brand new experiences they encounter in this adventure. Through a website, Iris and Amanda decide to trade their home, a way of life. By meeting each other’s lives and people around them, they discover things they don’t know about themselves. On the one hand, Amanda, who could not find happiness in her mansion, succumbs to her feelings and encounters true love in Iris’s small but peaceful house, while Iris enjoys the comfort in Amanda’s magnificent house. Will Iris, unable to leave behind the platonic love she could not forget for years with Amanda, who cannot even cry, will be able to find and change true love in each other’s lives, just like the lives they exchanged? While The Holiday takes us on a short vacation, it also makes us believe that it is necessary to get away for change and meet new people. Directed by Nancy Meyers, the movie will warm you up and make you believe that true love will always come across you.
