Emma Roberts and her Belletrist TV company signed a TV deal with Hulu at first sight. Since Belletrist was originally founded as a book club by Roberts and Karah Preiss, the deal will focus on literary adaptations. While Preiss will serve as executive producer on all projects developed under the agreement, Matt Matruski, development manager for Belletrist, will serve as a producer as part of his employment with the company.
The first project to be developed will be “Tell Me Lies” based on Carola Lovering’s book. In the book, Lucy Albright starts living on the campus of her small university, away from her mother, whom she never forgiven for an act of treason she suffered in her youth. It cares about university life and everything it offers. However, everything changes when he meets Stephen DeMarco, who has a mysterious past. Their addictive confusion will have consequences they could never have imagined.
